Vilnius DEC

linijos

In order to improve communication and cost-effective planning, Vilnius City Municipality is launching a virtual tool Vilniausk DEK (Works, Efficiency, Coordination).

Professionals from different companies in the city often work on the same projects and need to monitor the progress of an ongoing project in a virtual environment. From now on, the planning and coordination of the capital’s companies and contractors can be monitored in the virtual Vilnius DEK system developed by ID Vilnius.

Coordination, Efficiency, Works

Vilnius DEK helps you to plan your works more efficiently and to have a clear view of what is happening in the city in real time. The system improves inter-agency communication and reduces the risk of misunderstandings – professionals can easily share data, leave comments and react quickly to changes on the virtual city map.

Coordination, Efficiency, Works

The system is used by the Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Architecture, and Urban Environment Departments of the Vilnius City Municipality Administration, as well as by the companies Vilnius Lighting, Vilnius Waters, GRINDA, Vilnius City Parks, Vilnius Heat Networks, Susisiekimo paslaugos, and Vilniaus Vystymo kompanija.

The Vilnius DEK operates on the basis of a virtual map, and currently contains over 5 000 planned sites in the city, a list that is constantly being expanded. Items include streets, pavements, cycle paths, stairs, quiet streets, gravel roads, heating, lighting, electricity and water supply networks.

Underground and above-ground infrastructure restored

The Vilnius DEK system allows you to see the progress of projects in real time. The system will be maintained by ID Vilnius and uploaded by specialists from the relevant municipal companies.

The system presents work planning in the form of a Gantt chart. The virtual map also allows site owners to view intersections with other companies’ plans. It is possible to leave comments for colleagues from other companies in Vilnius, subscribe to changes to objects, and receive email notifications about changes to intersections and attributes.

Vilnius DEK currently provides information on underground and above-ground infrastructure projects. The system shows not only planned, ongoing and existing engineering networks in the city. It provides project warranty information, recorded defects and solution tracking. The boards also provide general statistics on urban projects.

In the near future, it is planned to continue to maintain the Vilnius DEK platform, to complete the project data, to include smaller objects, to expand the user base and to improve the functionality based on feedback. In the future, it is planned to provide partial public access to the platform.
